Community Engagement

Building partnerships with local communities is essential for making research more impactful. The Center believes that working with community members benefits everyone involved. It helps strengthen the skills of community partners while ensuring that our research is relevant and meaningful.

The Center’s community engagement team assists VCU researchers in forming connections with various community members, including schools, support organizations, advocates, families, and other local groups. To create these partnerships, we follow a clear process that involves three main steps: (1) understanding the needs of the community, (2) finding the right partners to work with, and (3) developing those partnerships.

By working together, the Center aims to improve the health and well-being of residents in Greater Richmond. Click to learn more about our initiatives.
