Vision, Mission and Goals

GOAL 1

GOAL 1. INNOVATIVE RESEARCH: The Center on Health Advancement will foster transformative research initiatives that explore new frontiers in health and wellness, aiming to enhance overall health outcomes across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Aim 1.1: Develop and implement innovative research methodologies to uncover new insights and solutions to these challenges

Aim 1.2: Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration to investigate cutting-edge health technologies and methodologies that can lead to innovative solutions in preventive care and health management. 

Aim 1.3: Support the development and evaluation of novel interventions that address emerging health challenges, such as chronic diseases and lifestyle-related health concerns.

GOAL 2

GOAL 2. ENHANCE RESEARCH EDUCATION: The Center on Health Advancement will strengthen research education programs to equip students, professionals, and community members with the skills and knowledge necessary to engage in impactful health research.

Aim 2.1: Develop comprehensive training workshops and seminars focused on research methodologies, data analysis, and evidence-based practice, catering to diverse audiences from students to healthcare practitioners. 

Aim 2.2: Create mentorship programs that connect emerging researchers with experienced professionals in the field to foster skill development and encourage innovative research pursuits.

GOAL 3. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & INFORMATION DISSEMINATION: The Center on Health Advancement will cultivate active relationships with local communities to promote health awareness and effectively share vital information, empowering individuals to make informed health choices.

Aim 3.1: Facilitate partnerships with academic institutions and healthcare organizations to drive research that translates into practical applications, ensuring that findings contribute to evidence-based practices that improve population health. 

Aim 3.2: Implement community outreach initiatives to raise awareness about the importance of research in health advancement, promoting public engagement and participation in research activities.

Aim 3.3: Collaborate with local organizations to implement outreach initiatives aimed at improving access to health services and resources, encouraging active participation in
community health programs.

GOAL 4

GOAL 4. INFORMATION DISSEMINATION: The Center on Health Advancement will develop effective strategies for disseminating research findings and health information to diverse audiences, ensuring that knowledge gained through our initiatives is accessible, actionable, and impactful.

Aim 4.1: Create engaging and user-friendly digital platforms (such as websites, social media, and newsletters) to share research outcomes, health resources, and educational materials with the community and stakeholders.

Aim 4.2: Organize regular informational workshops, webinars, and public forums to present research findings and discuss their implications for health practices, fostering a culture of informed decision making within the community.

Aim 4.3: Collaborate with media outlets, community organizations, and healthcare providers to amplify the reach of our research and health information, ensuring that messages resonate with diverse populations and address their specific health concerns.

Aim 4.4: Develop targeted communication strategies that tailor health information to different demographics, ensuring relevance and accessibility for all community members.
